What do I we need to do if we have moved the SQL server?

We recommend that this is done by somebody in your IT department who has full access to the server and is familiar with your IT infrastructure.

If the SQL server has been moved, all client machines will need to be ‘pointed’ to use the database. As the database would have changed connection details, you will need to correct the following

1. On the client machine, please hold ‘SHIFT’ and ‘Ctrl’ and double (left) click the eCollect V5 icon on the desktop. Please ensure that ‘SHIFT’ and ‘Ctrl’ are held down throughout this process. After a few seconds of holding these the Database Connection Wizard will pop up.

2. Please click ‘Next’. The following screen will request the Server and Connection details to the SQL Server database.

3. Once this step has done please select ‘Next’ and choose the database to connect to. Select the existing database, and then click ‘Finish’.
