We recommend that this is done by somebody in your IT department who has full access to the server and is familiar with your IT infrastructure.
You can get this error message if the SQL instance that ePay is using has not started. If this is the case, start the SQL instance and then start the ePay service.
If the SQL instance is running, but you are still getting the error code 1053, then you will need to check the service accounts ePay and the SQL instances are using have the correct credentials.
